Activities

The Nelms House offers safe, small workshops on Fridays and Saturdays noon to 5 pm. for your circle of family or friends. All safety measures will be followed including gloves, masks and sanitizer. Workshop spaces include 9 rooms, covered front porch, a back deck, and back yard if no rain. There are 2 hour booking times for each space with advance registration required for social distancing.

Just in time to make a floral display in a frame and change the florals for spring, summer and fall arrangements from the garden. This workshop can be a "to go" kit with directions by phone or video messaging. Call to order for curbside pick up. 

Join the Nelms House artist in residence to create a framed floral with color and design for your home or as a special gift. Plan to create a 5x7 or 8x10 framed floral. You can select one of these designs you prefer to create or innovate! Advance registration preferred (cash, charge or check to The Nelms House LLC), all supplies, instruction, and beverage refreshments are included in the workshop cost: $35/person

Come visit the Nelms House, a town historic landmark, for indoor and garden photography. Have fun exploring the rooms to take photography in this Victorian and Art Deco designed venue. Take photos in a native plant garden designed for environmental management and wildlife habitat. If interested in Nelms House Photo exhibits, ask or email about guidelines. While photographing, enjoy High Tea/Coffee Refreshments ($5/person). If professional photographers, visit the venue for discounts on photo sessions. During the visit, just sign the Photographer Registry to receive your discount!

Exhibit was to highlight Artfully Designed Recycled/Vintage Shoes (Partial Proceeds for Local Charities) Exhibit theme derived from the exhibit at the Peninsula Fine Art Center called "Adorn" and was used with their permission to raise funds for their Healing Arts Therapy Program. 

Special Home Tours for groups or individuals available to enjoy the Victorian styled rooms and hallways as a result of the Designer Showcase Fundraiser. Learn about the "style" concepts by the designers on behalf of the charities and the showcase artists who were represented. Includes refreshments from local caterers. Cost $5/person for Tour and Tea Room Refreshments.

Come visit the designed rooms to benefit the charities, appreciate the local artwork for sale, have a refreshment, tour the garden of native plants, and enjoy a featured workshop from one of the Charity Days. The workshops are suitable for children and adults. They include:
